Selene 80 Fishing Explorer
After a successful sea trial in the Pearl River our latest Selene 80 is back on dry docks for final commissioning. The Selene 80 Fishing Explorer is an iteration of the popular Selene 66 Classic Explorer, but with a longer and wider hull for which we have manufactured a new mould. This boat is designed for off-shore fishing with a larger and longer deck aft, two steps lower than the cockpit level. A 72’ version is also available with an optional enclosed flybridge.
A bastion of luxury
The Selene 80 offers four cabins with ensuite heads, and a crew quarter with four bunks and head located between the master stateroom and the engine room. The master stateroom is complete with a vanity, full length closets, and a writing desk. The flybridge is accessed from the stairway in the pilothouse. The flybridge can accommodate a large tender as well as comfortable seating for eight. Like her smaller sister the Selene 66, the Selene 80 Fishing Explorer is a « bastion of luxury » doubling as a no-nonsense efficient and safe passage maker.
Full redundancy
All systems are fully redundant, twin engine configuration, two generators, two watermakers, and hydraulic stabilizers, windlass and thrusters. With a speed of 12 knots she can get faster on the fishing grounds… Machinery space was not neglected and systems are easily accessed through a transom door or the interior stairway connecting to the crew cabin. The engine room features full standing headroom up to 6’2” (1,82 m). All major components are within reach for ease of maintenance. In addition a massive lazarette has room for a workbench, dive compressor, watermakers, a large freezer and storage.
In a few weeks she will be shipped to her lucky owner…
