Powering Progress: New Engine Deliveries Propel Selene’s Stock Boat Program Forward

In an exciting development at the Jet-Tern Marine (JTM) Shipyard, a new shipment of engines has arrived, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing enhancement of Selene Yachts’ stock boat program. This delivery includes eight state-of-the-art John Deere engines, accompanied by two Cummins engines ready on standby, ensuring robust performance and reliability across our upcoming models.

These engines, ordered a year ago, embody our commitment to innovation and efficiency in yacht construction. By integrating these engines into several Selene models currently under construction, we are set to substantially shorten delivery times and stabilize construction costs. This strategic move not only streamlines our manufacturing process but also enhances the value delivered to our clients by improving supply chain management.

The integration of John Deere and Cummins engines is tailored to meet the rigorous demands of maritime voyaging, providing unmatched durability and power efficiency. This initiative is a cornerstone in our mission to deliver excellence and dependability in our luxury yachts, reinforcing Selene’s legacy as a leader in the ocean-exploring experience.

The Selene Stock Boat Program not only enhances our construction efficiency but also directly addresses ongoing supply chain challenges. By integrating engines like the John Deere models into our builds ahead of schedule, we mitigate the risks associated with supply chain disruptions that have become more frequent since the onset of COVID-19. We apply this approach with multiple key components with long lead times. JTM CEO Howard Chen said “We will continually purchase equipment and material to ensure the key components are readily available for our stock boat program.”

This proactive approach ensures that critical components are on-hand early, avoiding the delays that many industries face due to fluctuating supply levels and transportation issues. By maintaining a fast and responsive supply chain, as highlighted in our existing operations, we can guarantee shorter delivery times for our yachts while adhering to the high-quality standards Selene is known for.

This strategic stockpiling of engines and other critical components not only secures our production line against global supply chain volatility but also provides our clients with the assurance that their yachts will be delivered on schedule, regardless of external factors. This foresight is part of our commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction in the evolving maritime landscape.
